Hi Everyone,
Glad to see how this is going, my name is Kingsley Bangwell, by some providence i work with Youngstars and i am glad to be part of this process! This is my first post and i hope it spurs some of us to some more action. Why I woke Up?When i went to sleep last night, it was a way of saying i want to rest. When i slept, it was cool, sweet and unbelieveably calm and grand. It was an entrance to the world new and splendid, nature was sure and friendly,The ecosystem was soft and amiable, even the trees spoke with me.The wild west and fauna sang songs and breath sweet aroma to me.When i made calls, there was no drop calls, i also didnt remember paying any fare when i commutted through a public taxi,Aha, i also remember that the taxi did not ride through but just glid through space and such was without the hold ups and bumps found in Gods own state like Aba.Eventually i got to my humble home, everthing was glassy and classy, the door opened as i approached, my dog was seating on the sofa and watching a movie, i spoke to my robort and he or it fixed me a chilled orange juice.I log onto my laptop to check my earnings and appointments for the day and i was too glad to know that i had earned such fat revenue through my stock transactions for the day.I also had an appointment to meet with the prime minister the next day to discuss some elevated issues. My dog actually reminded me that i hadnt said a word to him since i arrived.I just smiled to him or it and lay on the rich persian rug and slept off and then i had a dream. Why I woke up?Because in that dream, a voice showed me a picture of another world,i took a close look to the specific direction the hand was pointing and i thought that i remembered some features, it looked like the map of Africa. When i took a closer look, i could see the map of Nigeria and i wondered how come i remember these country, have i been here before? i asked the One showing me the map?But just before He answered, i was passing through Lagos, and the first contact i made with a very angry looking youth i discovered that he had my phone in his hands and walked away smiling...before i could shout ......I saw myself in Onitsha and some tough looking tugs approached me to pay local government tax for driving such a luxurious car, before i could protest, they loosed 2 of the tyres and ran away. While still in shock, i found myself in a long que of about 3,450 youths, when i asked the others why we were standing, they looked at me in scorn but one answered that an insurance firm was interviewing for employment, and i wondered how come i was an applicant? The next thing i was by a road side and i saw a woman frying akara close to a very huge refuse dump, when i tried to educate her how unhygenic her activity and location was, she poured some dirty smelling water on me,I was relieved when i saw a police man, when i laid my complains, he asked me to report to the station where i was put behind bars for public nuisance. Then i thought i would develop a heart attack if i didnt find some learned folks, then a genie ferried me to a large community, it was a university, i was so glad, so i walked up to a lecturer and asked him if this was a citadel of learning, he warned me to desist from trouble making, that this was not a citadel of learning but a university, and students were following him to collect handouts, obviously he didnt know the meaning of the word citadel. So i decided to stop the dream and return to the other world where my dog would atleast converse amiably....then the voice of the One said, you need to wake up and go back to that world...I asked why in consternation. ..and He answered, because you have a duty and the power to change things for the better and make your world (Nigeria) a better place, so much depends on your waking up!I woke up with a start and it was thursday 6am, 13th March 2008, i reflected for a while and it came to me that why i wake up every day is because the One depends on me to do what i must to make Nigeria and my corner a better place.....so there is work to do, and Youth Works is one such avenue to make our world a better place...Just curious...why did you wake up today?
Kingsley
